INTRODUCTION:
The Adelheid Summer School 2005 - 2006 is a 2 year training project for women from Eastern and Central Europe, working with the Churches / Faith Communities and NGO's.
We invite women who have never had the possibility for further training and want to improve their skills in order to be more effective in their work and community.
PROGRAMME PHASE I:
Communication and English Language Skills - every day use and and business English
Computer Skills
Project Development and Management
Finances. Budgeting and Fundraising
Team Building, Cooperation and Networking
Exchange between Different European Cultures (What unites us and what divides us)
Social Issues - Violence, Gender, Environment, and Health, etc.
Theological Thinking Together
PROGRAMME PHASE II:
Practical implmentation of the learnings from Phase I
Deepening of Skills and Knowledge
At the end of Phase II participants will receive a Certificate.
PARTICIPANTS:
The seminar will bring together 24 women multipliers from a variety of backgrounds who come from the various countries in Eastern and Central Europe. Participants need to have a basic knowledge of English and are expected to commit themselves to be involved in the project for the full two years and to attend both seminars (Phase I in the Czech Republic 2005 and Phase II in Britain 2006). As part of the integral process of the whole programme, it is foreseen that the qualifications and skills gained through the Adelheid Project will be further shared and passed onto others within their local and/or national context and within their organisations and projects.
FINANCES, TRAVEL and PARTICIPATION COSTS:
This programme is supported by the fundraising efforts of the organisers and costs approximately 1000 Euros per person. The Participation Fee is 100.00 Euros (50.00 Euros to be paid at the beginning of Phase I and 50 Euro at the beginning of Phase II). Participants are also expected to contribute to their travel costs (Minimum 10% of the total costs). There are a limited number of scholarships available, which need to be requested, at the same time as sending in the application form.
