Each year ENYA offers a variety of interactive training programmes.

Diploma Programmes:
are two year ecumenical programmes. During the two years, participants will attend a month long Foundation Course and a minimum of 4 Modules (usually two each year - 7 to 10 days long including travel days), plus other options. The courses are residential and will take place in different countries primarily in Eastern/Central/ Southern Europe.

Foundation Courses: (Certificated Courses), are also ecumenical and international residential courses, and usually run from three to four weeks .The Foundation Courses and Modules / Seminars will enable participants to develop their skills in a wide range of children's, youth, women and diaconial related issues, different theoretical approaches and dynamic and participatory methodologies.

Training Modules/ Seminars: are interactive ecumenical and international short courses which focus on a specific topic or issue (7 to 10 days long including travel days). These ecumenical leadership inter-active training modules, events and seminars are for those who work (or would like to work) in their Churches and communities.

Adelheid Project: is a two year training programme in language skills, managements and finance skills and theological reflection; for women from Eastern and Central Europe which is organised in cooperation with the EFECW, YWCA, ENYA and women's organisations in Eastern / Central Europe-Creating new visions, and building new partnerships.

Anke (Accelerate - Net Knowledge Enterprises) Projects: The "Anke" courses are intensive accelerated short training events, which range from 5 to 8 days in length. A selection of these courses are offered for women in various areas of competencies and capacity building, including computer and information technology management, leadership and management training and social justice activism.


There are several other programmes and innovative projects which are implemented each year.

Spotlight Programmes: These are special programmatic areas or urgent human rights and social justice issues which, ENYA would like to address through programmes, solidarity actions and outreach. In any given year, ENYA is usually involved in four or five "Spotlight Programmes".

Ace Ventures Ecumenical Resource Sharing Projects are five year ecumenical international resource sharing programmes (started in 1996). During the next few years these projects ENYA’s members, partners and friends are is committed to supporting. The projects are reviewed each year and new projects may be added.

ENYA Internships and Volunteering Programmes: are opportunities for young people to be involved in the development of a project or special field of work. They are residential and take place in different countries but primarily in Eastern/Central/Southern Europe. The length of an internship is usually between one month to one year. The internships are participant-led and require a commitment to furthering the goals of the ecumenical movement

Ecumenical Unit Training Programme: are available for those who are interested in running modules or establishing projects in their own local situations and can be either denominational or ecumenically based.


Participants: in the courses and programmes will come from all spheres of the Churches / Faith Communities and their related children's, youth, women's and justice related organisations. People are welcomed from all walks of life. The events are open to all those interested and can identify with our aims and goals. You do not need to be enrolled in one of the Diploma Programmes currently being offered, to participate in the Foundation Courses or Modules/Seminars. New modules are currently being designed and piloted. If you would like to see a course that is not offered, please contact the Coordinators. While these modules are currently being run on an international level, it is possible to adapt the modules and run them on a national or local level if there is enough interest.

The educational approach: in all the programmes will include some or all of the following elements: dialogue, listening and sharing of experiences between the participants, comparative analysis training and workshops for local and national work, strategy sessions, development of solidarity actions, prejudice reduction training, gender awareness training, development of training resources, workshop sessions, small analysis groups, small family or home groups, plenaries, role plays, slide shows and visual displays. Experts experienced in the subject fields contribute in plenaries and workshop sessions. The main emphasis in the methodological approach will be on enabling participants themselves to learn from the expertise and experience of each other.
