¤ ENYA @ THEWEBBIEAWARDS ¤ While working our own webbie pages, we have discovered many brilliant and exciting organisations and web sites, which we have learned a lot from. We also wanted to find a way to say thanks to those many unknown people whose work we have benefited from. It will probably not some as any surprise that the idea came up again while the less diligent of us were trying to find some extra help and scrambling around on the Internet in order to find a way to pass our exams and papers (we had to make up for all the classes we somehow never got to!!)
The awards will be given on a regular basis (monthly) to Churches/Faith Communities and related organisations; and not-for-profit organisations/networks/groups who share similar aims and goals as the Ecumenical Network for Youth Action. The purpose of the awards are to recognise the valuable achievements and accomplishments of many volunteers and others who have worked so hard, often well into the nights beyond the call of duty; who have made a significant contribution to a more inclusive, caring and just world. Organisations and sites are chosen on their own merit and have fulfilled the following criteria. 1) The organisation actively promotes an inclusive community --living in diversity and tackles difficult controversial issues which we tend to shy away from; and 2) their webbie sites are interesting, creative, innovatively designed, regularly maintained and contain valuable information and contents, reliable research and/or resources. With these awards we express our thanks for your contributions.
Know a brilliant organisation with a cool site. We invite you to nominate them for a 5 star webbie award.
